Art Association of the Philippines

About Us

The Art Association of the Philippines (AAP) is the country’s oldest surviving artist organization. It was founded in 1948 by a group of artists led by Purita Kalaw-Ledesma. The association now comprises more than 3,000 artists from various mediums. All of whom work to meet the artistic community’s greater developmental and progressive demands.

At present, the AAP is a non-profit organization whose mission is to “promote and advance the interests of individuals who work in the visual arts.” The association expects to have a permanent office and gallery (AAP Tahanan) located at Metro Tagaytay, Silang Cavite, under the leadership of AAP President Fidel Sarmiento.
