About Us

AKTOR (translating to “actor” in Filipino) is a non-profit organization established in May 2020 and formally registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in December 2020. It serves as a league for Filipino actors aiming to:

  • Protect the rights and welfare of Filipino actors across various fields, including theater, film, television, and online platforms.
  • Promote professionalism and ethical conduct within the industry.
  • Provide resources and support to member actors, including training, workshops, legal assistance, and career guidance.
  • Advocate for fair treatment and opportunities for Filipino actors in the entertainment industry.

How We Help Creative Industries

  • Negotiating with stakeholders: AKTOR aims to work with production companies, platforms, and various industry representatives to ensure fair contracts, safe working environments, and proper compensation for Filipino actors.
  • Providing legal support: They offer legal assistance and advice to members facing challenges like contract disputes or unfair treatment.
  • Organizing workshops and training sessions: AKTOR helps its members develop their skills and stay updated with industry trends through workshops and training sessions.
